Lions Park
The Blackwater Lions Park is a wide grassy area with good amenities and a BBQ as you would expect from any Lions Park.
It is also surrounded with fully loaded flagpoles around its perimeter. They are loaded with the flags of 37 nations whose citizens came to establish the mining industry here. It is one of the largest displays of multi-national flags in the world.
There is also an old steam locomotive displayed in the park, which should get the kids (both young and old) excited.

Blackwater Conservation Park
Blackwater Conservation Area opened in 2002 and is one of BREC's renowned conservation areas. The naturalized park offers two large fishing lakes, nature trails and pavilion with restrooms. The trees on the 57.48 acre site represent native species such as: Bald Cypress, Tupelo Gum, Cottonwood, River Birch, Red Mulberry, Persimmon, Pines and Oaks.

Japanese Gardens
The Japanese Gardens in Blackwater are reputed to be the best of its kind in Queensland. The gardens mark the relationship between Blackwater and its sister city, Fujisawa in Japan.
A children's playground has been constructed adjacent to the Japanese Garden, and the area also features a tourist information centre, restored steam locomotive and a developing mining equipment display.
